WALK TO THE WALKER, RIDE TO THE TOP ON OUR SALT LAKE CITY TOURS!

This combination of a short walking tour and visit to the Walker rooftop is the perfect overview (pun intended) of the city! 

The tour starts at the southeast corner of Main Street and South Temple (in front of Zions Bank). From this location you can see Temple Square, and your guide will tell you about early Salt Lake City and its Mormon settlers.

As the tour makes its way down Main Street, the architecture helps to tell the story of an ever-evolving city. This walk takes a half hour or so, with many short stops along the way.

After arriving at the Walker Center, we head indoors to learn more about the building’s complex 113 year history before taking the elevator to the rooftop. Your guide will point out dozens of other landmarks from our private perch 200 feet above Main Street. On a clear day we can see the  Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountains, and even a sliver of the Great Salt Lake. 

This tour is highly recommended for first time visitors to the city, history enthusiasts, and convention-goers.

ITINERARY

  • Meet your guide at Main Street and South Temple.
  • Enjoy a leisurely stroll down Main Street with many short stops along the way in front of historic buildings.
  • Once we arrive at the Walker Center we head indoors where the history presentation continues in an area with seating and restrooms.
  • Then we head to the roof! Your guide will point out many other landmarks near and far, and share stories associated with them.
  • There will be time for photos!
  • The entire tour takes roughly two and a half hours.

CHECK-IN DETAILS

Your guide will be on the sidewalk at the southeast corner of Main Street and South Temple Street in front of Zions Bank (it’s address is 1 South Main) 15 minutes prior to the tour. He will be rocking a Walker Center logo on his clipboard and clothing. If you need further assistance, you can also call him at 385-910-9733.

All guests must read and sign waivers before the tour, and your guide will check your ID to ensure that all waivers match those who are present.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Comfortable shoes (no high heels allowed on the roof)
  • Sunscreen and Sunglasses (it can be bright on the roof)
  • A camera or smartphone for pictures!
